Yao Zetsubami (ゼツバミ・ヤオ) is a playable character in Mahjong Fight Girl, and is unlocked upon beginning the game.
Yao was first teased on February 9th, 2023, then teased again on February 22nd, before being revealed on March 17th, 2023.
Yao's first comic appearance was in The Gun in Lethal Enforcers is Called the Justifier, published on November 17th, 2023.
Description[]
Yao Zetsubami is a self-proclaimed cool character and a big westaboo who tries her best to come off as cool to everyone else. However, most people know that she's just trying to act this cool. Yao also cares about her position within her group, and how they appear around others. Yao didn't want Hiyori to name their group "MENTANPIN", because she believes it's uncool.
Yao loves food, and is often seen eating, snacking on riceballs and sweets in particular. A lot of her associated items are food-themed. She'll often ask the player for sweets that are only reliably available at a store near the player's house.

Trivia[]
- Yao modified her outfit to better suit her "cool" persona, despite her modifications making her outfit less suitable for the winter. But, she claims that they will "keep her cool".
- Yao has a cat motif, but she claims that it's a panther motif. She usually has cat ears on, and even has a cattail as a part of her swimsuit. She also wears a cat stamp with her bunny outfit.
- Her symbol is "∞", wearing it on her armband, and wearing earrings shaped like the symbol.
- Yao's swimsuit is one of the more normal-looking swimsuits. Her swimsuit also has two variations, one wearing the COOL glasses than Sen picked out for her, and the other having them folded around her bikini top strings.
- Yao was the last of the original 8 characters to appear in a comic, making her first appearance in the same comic as Chaos.
